10/28/06 - Weekend of Kieran Begins...

Saturday, October 28 was a big day for the K-man, kicking off a fun filled extended weekend. First, his beloved Nittany Lions shut out opponent Purdue. Later that same day, he would visit the McDonalds Playland...

Here, Kieran tries to shove a whole half of a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich into his mouth (while keeping it off the sacred shirt!):

We had originally planned on witch hunting in Salem on Saturday evening, but the weather didn't cooperate and we scratched that plan. Exploring some new haunts in Salem, dressed as Napoleon Dynamite and a Sexy Witch, would have been a night to remember, for sure. But I think we had a pretty good day, and things were just warming up!

Illinois vs. Penn State - 2006 Homecoming in Happy Valley...

WE ARE...going to the PSU homecoming football game in Happy Valley. Mimi Susan, Grandpa Jim, Dustin, Katie (Dustin's girlfriend) , Kieran, Marion, and Joe are all along for the road trip. We got off to a bit of a late start on Friday afternoon, after anxiously awaiting the arrival of two of our tickets via the US Postal Service's "express" overnight mail delivery.

The Hummer Mobile got us there and back safely, despite a rear-end collision on a rain slicked I-495 in Massachusetts and a truck driver on I-80 who seemed to want to play bumper cars at 65 miles an hour...

We camped out, briefly, at a Comfort Inn in New Columbia, PA and then got up early to finish the drive to State College on Saturday. Everyone looked ready to go in this picture, except for Kieran who used the time to rest for his big day...
